IBBY Ireland Celebrates Diwali

On Saturday, 22nd October IBBY Ireland was delighted to be associated with the Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights celebration in the Simmonscourt Pavilion in the RDS. Children's author, poet and translator Gabriel Rosenstock and illustrators Bob Ó Cathal and Carol Betera were present in the Kids' Corner on behalf of IBBY Ireland to sign copies of two beautifully illustrated children's picturebooks, which were both published earlier this year and written by Rosenstock in the Irish language. Birbal, illustrated by Bob Ó Cathal, is a collection of tales and proverbs inspired by Indian folklore and Sa Tóir ar an Yeití, illustrated by Carol Betera, describes the adventures of searching for the Yeti.
